The CI-CCD line of cameras can be used in a wide variety of applications, including medical and industrial x-ray imaging, video and electron microscopy, florescence, film digization, electrophoresis, spectroscopy, streak tube camera readout, combustion imaging, underwater imaging, and many others.
While there are many applications for CI-CCD cameras, all applications have common performance requirements, including low noise, high dynamic range, high resolution, and high sensitivity. The CI-CCD product line is designed to meet these performance requirements, providing up to 16 bits of dynamic range, up to 4096 x 4096 pixel buttable detector modules, and exposure times of up to one hour for ultra low light level imaging applications. Intergration of high performance CCD cameras into clinical, analytical and industrial instruments have been limited so far by the relatively high cost of high performance, cooled CCD cameras. The MedOptics CI-CCD product line is designed for low cost, high volume manufacturing, allowing the systems intergrator to develop commercially successful products.
Hundreds of MedOptics systems are currently in instruments developed by leading systems intergrators such as Hughes Missile Systems and Fisher Imaging Corporation.
