Microwave Model 9810 Transceivers). |
| Supported Modems: Analog modems
supporting 9600/N/8/1 and auto-connect. (Tested with U.S. Robotics V.Everything and
Sportster Fax modem, and MEGAHERTZ XJ1560 PCMCIA modem). |
| Data Storage: PortAll Files:
Read-only tab-delimited text files. One file per instrument read, unless instrument is
controlled by Scheduler, then one file per day, per instrument. |
| User Files: Reads and writes
PortAll Workbook ".VTS" files, Excel V4, 5, and 7 (minus graphics),
tab-delimited text, plain text, and HTML. Graphs can be stored separately as PortAll
".VTC" files. |
| Workbook: |

columns (each row is a particle count sample). |
| Formulas: supports Microsoft Excel
formula syntax. |
| Formatting: full presentation
formatting capabilities including fonts, cell, lines, borders, and shape drawing, etc.
Full numeric format controls. |
| Sorting: Sort by alpha-numeric
order, ascending and descending, all columns by any column (i.e. by date/time, sample
location, count value, etc.). |
| Sheets: Up to 256 sheets per
workbook, each particle counter is loaded into a separate sheet, copy and paste between
sheets |
| Graph: |
| Types: Line and bar are the default
types, most other types are also available: area, pie, 3 dimensional, histogram, etc. |
| Statistics: Average, minimum,
maximum, and standard deviation of each data series graphed. |
| Formatting: Full formatting
controls for scales, labels, titles, footnotes, legends, colors, lines, grids, etc.
Individual data points can be highlighted and annotated. |
| Copy and Paste: Graphs can be
copied to clipboard and pasted into other programs as data series, vector graphics
(WMF),
or bitmaps (BMP). |
| Scheduler: |
| Capacity: Six months in the future.
|
| Instrument Start/Stop Times:
Instruments can be started and stopped once each day. |
| Number of Instrument Reads/Day: Up
to 10 automatic readings of instrument memory can be set for each day to prevent
instrument memory overflow. |
| Data
Normalization: |
| Particle Count Values: Total count
data can be automatically scaled as counts per cubic foot, cubic meter, milliliter, 100
milliliters, or liter. |
| Environmental Sensor Values: For
environmental sensors connected to the particle counter, values can be automatically
scaled to any engineering units such as degrees Fahrenheit, pH, percent relative humidity,
turbidity, etc. |
| Printing: |
| Workbook: Each sheet can be printed
with different options from the corresponding graph. Print preview is available. |
| Graph: Graphs can be printed with
different options from the corresponding sheet. (e.g., graph can be printed landscape,
sheet can be printed portrait.) |
| Security: |
| Password: A single password can be
set and used to control access to (i.e. lock) any, or all, of the following features: |
| Workbook: Editing Workbook data and
format. |
| Scheduler: Accessing the scheduler
to change instrument start/stop times or memory read times. |
| Normalization: Access to
right-click menu to alter data normalization settings of instrument. |
Options and Accessories
| RS-232 to RS-485 Converter Kit:
Serial converter and line terminator. Allows connection of up to 32 instruments to one
serial port via one cable. Cable can be 4,000 feet long. Special digital communications
cable is also available. |
| Serial Communications
Cable: Required. Not compatible with Model 227 (see below). |
| PortAll Adapter:
Required for Model 227 only. |
| Particle Counter Modems:
Your
particle counter can be connected directly to an analog modem for communication with your
computer via standard phone lines. Met One and Royco counters have been tested with the
following modems: US Robotics Sportster 33.6 Fax modem, US Robotics Courier
V.Everything,
MEGAHERTZ XJ1560 Modem with Xjack for PCMCIA by 3Com (for portable computers). A
white paper on modem communications with particle counters is on the CD. You will also
need the modem cable and Modem Communications Module listed below. |
| Modem Communications Software
Module: Adds support for modem communications to Particle Vision PortAll, including phone
book with multiple number dialing (instruments at different locations), automatic redial,
error checking, etc. |
| Serial Cable for Modem Connection:
Most Met One and Royco particle counters need a special cable to properly connect to the
serial port of an external modem. |
