The highly versatile Infragauge 55 Transmission Sensor
offers a cost-effective method to accurately determine film thickness, barrier layer thickness or product moisture content.Sensors tailored for the specified film thickness (microns to millimeters), ensure optimal sensitivity
and accuracy for most known polymer films. The mid-infrared wavelengths used in the Infragauge 55 Transmission Sensor allow precise measurement of expensive barrier layers (a few microns thick) with unrivaled accuracy. Polymers
such as EVOH and Nylons have a unique "fingerprint" in this region ensuring reliable discrimination.
Paper moisture measurement on heavier basis weight materials or where moisture stratification is expected is most accurately
measured since the transmission sensor provides an integrated measurement of total moisture throughout the web.
Nonwovens and impregnated materials are accurately measured by the transmission configuration for moisture, binder, resin weight, etc.
The Infragauge 55 Transmission Sensor is a non-contacting measurement with a large air gap and
the selectivity of the IR technique means that measurements are unaffected by the ambient conditions. Dual detector technology provides a stable measurement platform essential for profile measurement and control.
The modern
operator interface is easy to use and the sensor is delivered pre-configured for each application – greatly simplifying installation and calibration.
The Infragauge 55 Transmission Sensor is ideally suited for web scanning to
provide profile information and can be integrated into the Infragauge Pro – NDC Infrared Engineering's profile display system.
Its range of databus interfaces and analog outputs allow it to be easily integrated either into existing or new production lines.
