The highly innovative IG710 backscatter gauge is optimized for web coatweight and moisture measurements. Its unique features allow users to optimize their process and radically improve product quality. New technology introduced in the  IG710 ensures users achieve the highest accuracy and measurement speed, critical for meaningful control of a high speed product web. Selective infrared technology means subtractive measurement is normally unnecessary, offering a cost-effective measurement solution.

The IG710 high speed measurement, up to 10 times faster than conventional NIR gauges, reduces measurement noise, improves accuracy and allows far greater cross direction (CD) and machine direction (MD) resolution of the product coatweight or moisture profile. Reduced noise allows operation closer to the process target for a more rapid return on investment.

The IG710 uses our proven Dual Detector Referencing with LAPDOG beam splitter technology, for unrivalled long term stability, essential when used as an input for process control. Gauge stability also removes the need for costly "re-calibration." The IG710 features Virtual Full Spectrum (VFS) technology allowing more sophisticaed calibration models to be used for improved robustness. New algorithms used in the IG710 mean it is less affected by substrate color or basis weight, which benefits users by minimizing ongoing calibration activity. Up to 4 measurements may be made in one gauge which can reduce cost and hardware requirements for mulitple measurement applications. IG710 gauges have SpeedCal pre-calibrations which reduces commissioning and installation time. The unique NDC Infrared Engineering filter technology also ensures that the IG710 is not affected by ambient lighting, humidity or temperature.

IG710 Scanning and Profile Display

The IG710 is designed to be scanning the web and can be integrated into the NDC Infrared Engineering family of systems. The Windows NT based system can display the profiles from four scanning and four fixed point IG710 gauges.
