The TFS Scanners are designed for repeatable and precise performance, ease of installation, reliability and customer-maintainable operation over their useful lives. Of design significance are: |
|
||||||||
The precision construction permits tight tolerance traversing with minimal wear. Complete disassembly/reassembly is made possible with no sacrifice in performance. The scanner can be
equipped with an adjustable bracket. This allows the scanner to accommodate web passlines of up to 45 degrees while the scanner is mounted vertically. Alternatively, all passline angles can be accommodated by rotating the scanner
itself. In addition, a versatile o-ring sensor mount allows the gauge to be mounted in any possible direction in 90 degree increments. Exposed surfaces are black anodized aluminum. All components are designed for continuous
operation and with a "mean time between failure" of greater than five (5) years. |

Options |
||||||||
If located in a Class I, Division I hazardous area, an optional Type "X" Purging System is provided. For highly corrosive environments, optional stainless steel rails and components are substituted. |

Maintainability |
||||||||
The TFS2 Scanner is designed to operate with little or no maintenance. Mechanical positive fail-safe end stops are provided at each extreme scan limit. Non-mechanical limit switches are also
provided at each extreme scan limit. Non-mechanical limit switches are also provided and are continuously adjustable. The motor/drive system positively stops upon an 18lb (79N) force applied to either carriage in the opposite
direction of scan. |
