NITON's XL-800series hand-held XRF analyzers are the most
convenient instruments you can take into the field for on-site
testing of metal alloys. The detectors utilize x-ray fluorescence
(XRF) technology to analyze and identify metal samples and
report elemental compositions.

The instrument contains a ¹⁰⁹Cd source that is used to excite the characteristic fluorescent x-rays in a sample. Using the latest advancements in microprocessor technology and sophisticated fundamental parameters (FP) software, the NITON analyzes samples in seconds. There is no down-time between tests. The
instrument is a single unit weighing less than 2 1/2 lbs. It's rugged,
fast, and easy to use.

NITON XL-800series Alloy Analyzers are extremely versatile and
have two convenient modes of operation. In rapid identification
mode, the instrument performs 'signature" matching from a user defined library of over 200 alloys. The second mode identifies approximated alloy chemistry plus grade identification of over 150 common alloys in 3 to 5 seconds, and higher precision chemistry in 10-20 seconds.

If the instrument analyzes a sample which is within or close to the specifications of an alloy in the above table, the instrument will identify the sample as that alloy. If the sample is unlike any of the alloys in the above table, the instrument will display "No Match".

Analyze turnings accurately

NITON employs a unique geometry correction algorithm to automatically correct readings for irregularly shaped samples like nuts, bolts, turnings, and shavings. The alloy analyzer performs this correction automatically during the measurement - no operator input is necessary.
