The Tight Access Probe is used instead of a Standard Weld Probe to examine areas where access is restricted. It can be used in plate to plate angles of 40° and over, such as the cord to brace angle in tubular Y-joint or stiffener plates.
The probe contains a sensor coil pair consisting of a Bx and Bz coil wound concentrically. The body of the probe is potted epoxy resin. The bottom face is fitted with stainless steel feet and a brass front wear plate to minimise probe wear. The sensors are protected by a white ceramic disc.
Probes can be supplied with probe extension cables or longer fitted cables. Details on request.
