DiO 562 HIGHThis version is the very usable because of its possibility to be linked to peripheries by means of a side connector.
Features:
PRF output |
External signalisation switch |
external loudspeaker |
External synchronisation |
B-scan indicating the probe position |
Incremental sensor input for coordinate measuring (there is a possibility to switch on a B-scan instrumentation indicating the probe position and distinguishing the motion direction of the hand-held probe) |
Digital programmable outputs for customer applications |
The flaw detector may be provided in two versions containing one or two independent channels.
Two or more instruments may be synchronised in two modes: First mode: the both instruments are transmitting ultrasonic pulses simultaneously. Second mode: the pulses are being transmitted alternately, in order that the ultrasonic pulses from one instrument be not disturbed by the other (only two channel models).
An eight-channel multiplexor may be connected (in HW SET-the hardware set-up may be configured in different transmitter-receiver ways, e.g. channel 1 is transmitting and the channel 3 is receiving).
Digital programmable outputs for customer use analogue outputs (gated echo is being set to the voltage 0 till 5V, position of the gated echo).
DiO 562 two channel versionThe model DiO 562 2CH is a two-channel ultrasonic flaw detector for manual field inspection as well as for automated scanning. Its use is suited for testing with two independent channels at the same time. There are two independent receivers and two transmitters. The display is divided into two parts for each channel. The gate display: two gates in the first (second) channel. The pitch of tone is distinguishing the gates.

Rail testerFor simple manual rail inspection the DiO 562 is being used with a combined probe.

| |
A-scans of the both channels together with the appropriate gates are simultaneously displayed on the screen. One example is the application for rail inspection with a combined probe. The other example is testing of hollow railway vehicle axles with boring diameter from 30 to 80 mm (see Fig. 16 and 17).

DiO 562 LF - low frequency versionThis DiO 562 version is suited for testing materials with high attenuation of ultrasonic waves, as concrete, plastic materials with enhanced attenuation, constructions and coarse-grained materials in general. The principal feature of this equipment is its low operation frequency from 20 kHz to 1 MHz.
The above mentioned materials are being inspected in transmission methods with separated transmitter and receiver probes. As other examples see the testing of composites, honeycombs and wood.

Assembly for testing hollow railway axles: - Head bar with scale and DiO 562 connector - Head with two angle probes
The axle testing assembly (Fig. 16) is equipped with a probe head fastened on bar provided with a scale. At one end of the assembly bar is a handle and the DiO 562 connector. At the other end is positioned the probe head, that may be skewed by means of a cardan joint. The assembly bar is equipped with a scale indicating the probe head position.
The probe head is interchangeable because of the necessity using different probe angles from 450 to 700 (2 MHz) according to diameter of the inside boring. The signals of the both channels are displayed simultaneously on the DiO 562 two channel version.
